You have received a confirmation e-mail for your dream Overseas Graduate Job interview. It is all excitement and nervousness at a time and you do not know where to start. Below are some useful tips for you:
Pre-interview:
Attire is really important and you must choose something which you are comfortable wearing. It must also not detract from the corporate culture or your professionalism.
It is absolutely essential to research the company. You must try to impress the employer with your exhaustive knowledge of the firm. This will express your genuine interest in the job profile.
Your Resume and Cover Letter must be customized to the job description. This will give you a fairly good idea of fitting the specification, as quoted by the Study International.
Make sure you are prepared for asking 2-3 questions to the interviewer. Usually, at the end of the interview, your potential employer will ask you if you have any questions for them.
Prepare for the interview through probable questions in a mock session.
Interview:
It is always good to have a copy of your Resume. Equally important is to reach the venue on time or 5 minutes earlier. Remain positive.
Be prepared for curve-balls. No matter how many practice sessions you do, you can never predict what exactly the interviewer will ask you.
Employers would like to know you as an individual and understand what value you add to the company. So relax and just be affirmative and confident in your answers.
Post-interview:
Never underestimate the impact of just saying a simple ‘thank you’. This is not only polite but also ensures you remain in their memory. It also shows your serious interest in the Overseas Graduate Job.
Then, you can do nothing but wait with patience. Stop worrying because they will get in touch with you if you are selected.
Smile and remain positive. Best of Luck!
