The latest graduate program announced by the Australian government is the APS HR Professional Stream Graduate Program. This program initiated by the APS HR Professional Stream intends to improve HR capability across the public service in the country.

This is a 12-month graduate program will provide graduates with interesting and challenging work. There will be a detailed induction followed by mentoring assistance and opportunities to participate in the internal and external activities of the department. On successful completion of the program, graduates will find placement in an ongoing role.

Eligibility requirements for the program:

Candidates should be an Australian citizen or will be by 24 April 2020

They must be in the final year of their study program or completed an undergraduate or postgraduate study program in the past five years that is recognized in Australia

They must be willing to relocate to Canberra

They must get their Employment Suitability Clearance and complete the Employment Suitability Self-Assessment.

They must obtain the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance

If candidates have a degree from outside Australia, they must get it recognized by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment.

Selection process:

The application for the program opens on March 23, 2020 and closes April 24, 2020. The selection process for the program has several stages and will run for several months. A candidate must successfully complete each stage to progress to the next leading to the final selection for the program.
