If you are an aspiring immigrant to Canada and do not have a job offer, do not worry as it is possible now! The latest report has revealed that just 10% of ITAs to migrate to the nation now go to those who possess a job offer. This is down from the 40% in 2016 November when changes were introduced to the Canadian Immigration System.
Conference Board of Canada’s Senior Research Associate Kareem El-Assal favors the changes to the immigration system by the government of Canada. These changes give less emphasis on a job offer and more importance to education, as quoted by the Star.
The rebooted economic immigration system of Canada has resulted in a larger pool of qualified candidates by easing them to apply for immigrating to Canada without a job offer. The changes lay greater emphasis on what is termed as human capital. These include personal factors such as language proficiency, education and age, and others.
It is more than a year now that the immigration system was tweaked by the government. Overseas Students have received a boost as their education in Canada is now more valuable. The latest migration data has revealed that sum of 101, 107 candidates entered the pool of applicants from January to November 2016. This was when changes to selection system were implemented by Ottawa that ranks and invites those who achieve the cut-off in the individual draw and offers ITAs for Canada PR under the economic immigration category. Several draws are held annually.
6 months after the changes to the system that severely decreased the extra points for candidates with job offers, 77, 2017 candidates entered the pool. The statistics for 2017 are yet to be announced.
