Vizag girl wins “British High Commissioner for a day” challenge

Vempati Sneha Deepthi, a young girl from Vizag, has become British High Commissioner to India for a day.

The British High Commission had organized a competition for women between the ages of 18 to 23 years to mark the International Day of the Girl Child which is celebrated on 11th October. The winner gets the chance to become the British High Commissioner to India for a day, as quoted by The Times of India.

To participate, competitors had to submit a short video on the topic “What does gender equality mean to you?” on social media. They also needed to tag @UKinIndia in their video.

The winning entry was submitted by the 21-year old Sneha Deepthi.

Sneha will now accompany Andrew Fleming who is the British Deputy High Commissioner for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, on a normal day’s work. She will be attending meetings with senior staff from the British High Commission. She will also be getting involved in a wide range of tasks carried out by the British High Commission.
