7 new Visa Application Centers have been opened by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in China. With this, the strength of IRCC’s Visa Application Centers in China has increased to 12. This has been done to cater to the increasing demand for Temporary Resident Visa or TRV services there, said IRCC.
More than 500, 000 visa applications have been received from China so far in 2017 revealed IRCC. This is an increase of 15% when compared with 2016, as quoted by the CIC News.
The 7 new Visa Application Centers are in Wuhan, Shenyang, Kunming, Jinan, Hangzhou, Chengdu, and Nanjing. This adds to already existing network in 5 cities of China. These are Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Beijing.
Chinese residents are the fastest growing tourism market in Canada, said IRCC. It is also the third largest after the US and the UK, as quoted by the CIC News. More than 1.4 billion dollars were contributed to the economy of Canada by Chinese in 2016.
Recently, a non-stop daily flight from Shanghai to Montreal was added by Air Canada. Apart from this a thrice weekly direct flight from Beijing to Montreal was also added by Air China/Air Canada. This has helped to accentuate the flow of tourists from the city to Canada. Other major cities in Canada also have a direct flight to China. These include Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto.
Chinese can now apply for a Canada visa in an easier way, said IRCC. This is owing to the extended network of Visa Application Centers. These are managed by private firms. They are permitted to offer only select services to visa applicants. It includes directions for complete applications and answering application queries in the local languages.
