To apply for a visa to India there are several aspects

If you have planned for a vacation in India and wish to apply for a visa to India there are several aspects that you should keep in mind. You have to mention your employment details on the visa application otherwise; you may be denied approval to arrive in India. If you are UK passport holder, you will have to apply for the E-tourist visa.

The E-TV permits tourists to arrive in India at certain specific airports. The cities are Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.

This visa is applicable only for tourists who intend to visit India for vacation, visiting family or friends, business visits or short-term medical care. On this visa, the travelers are permitted to stay in India for 30 days. In case if they intend to stay more than 30 days, they must approach the Indian consulate for a tourist visa, as quoted by the Express UK.

In case if the travelers stay beyond the approval of their visa, they must immediately and personally approach the close by Regional Registration Officer for foreigners and obtain an approval to exit. Travelers are cautioned that in a scenario wherein they stay beyond the approval of their visa, they are liable to be detained, put on trial or fined.

The E-TV permits single entry to India and can be utilized for a maximum of two visits in one year.

The UK passport holders must be an E- passport, have two blank pages for visa and have validity for a minimum of six months at the time you are applying for the visa.

Foreign and Commonwealth Office has said that British overseas territories citizen passport holders, British national (overseas), British overseas citizen, British protected person, and British subject might not have the eligibility to obtain the E-TV.

Applicants who do not furnish accurate details of their employment could be denied the E-TV. Quite a few of the applicants do not give their employment details such as their employer firm and position held while filling their application form for visa and write NA in the form.

If you are applying for the E-TV for India it is mandatory to furnish your employment details. In case you fail to do so, your application will be denied.

If the applicant of E-TV is a housewife or child, the husband’s or father employment details have to be given.

The applicants must also give details of their place of stay in India. Some applicants misinterpret this as details of someone they are familiar in India and again write as NA in the form. This section of the application is just asking details of the hotel or lodge and this has to be furnished. In case these details are not given, then again the application for the visa may be rejected.

The E-TV visa applicants also need to apply for processing of their visa at least two weeks prior to their date of departure in order to assure that everything is processed within the timelines.
