E-visas will be offered by the Central Asian Republic of Uzbekistan to India from July 2018 onwards. This is aimed at enhancing the arrivals of Indians to the nation especially tourists.
Uzbekistan had already initiated friendly visa policies for Indians from the beginning of this year. It had eliminated the mandatory clause for invitation letter for visa application, as quoted by the Travelbizmonitor.
The E-Visas facility for Indians was announced by Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India Farhod Arziev. He was speaking at an interactive session for the promotion of enhanced people to people communication and tourism at Delhi. This was organized by the Uzbekistan Embassy in India.
The Ambassador said that the system of E-Visas for Indians will further enhance arrivals of travelers between both the nations. He added that Uzbekistan offers a diverse range of tourist attractions. These range from Eco-tourism to Spiritual to Religious, Educational, and Adventure.
The flying time from Delhi to Uzbekistan is less than three hours. It is thus the closest neighbor of India having numerous common culture and heritage to share, added Farhod Arziev. Indians can feel at home in Uzbekistan, said the Ambassador.
Uzbekistan has more than 7,000 heritage and historic places. More than 1,000 of these places have a close affinity with the culture of Islam. The nation also has several places that are associated with renowned scholars of Islam in Uzbekistan. Thus the country attracts several spiritual travelers for Ziyarat, informed the Ambassador.
Farhod Arziev made specific reference to Imam al Bukhari’s memorial complex at Samarkhand. The Uzbekistan Ambassador to India added that the nation has serene and appealing natural landscape. This can be a huge appeal to the Bollywood production units, he added.
