ISMP ends self-scheduling of appointments for Info Pass. It encourages the immigration aspirants to use online information services of the USCIS. This is to view general how-to information. It is also for checking statuses via the Contact Center of the USCIS, as quoted by the USCIS GOV.
Latest improvements have been made by the USCIS to its online tools. This is for enabling the immigration aspirants to obtain the statuses of their cases. They can also obtain other information pertaining to immigration even without visiting a local field office.
The USCIS had launched a pilot of this program in 2019 March. This was a transition from the system of Info Pass appointment to ISMP. It has resulted in improved delivery of emergency services and other services as well. These are the ones that could only be offered in person. The operations have also been made efficient overall.
Francis Cissna the Director of USCIS said that expansion of the ISMP is a crucial step in upgrading more USCIS services and information online. This also provides more time to the agency staff to adjudicate benefit requests. This will help in decreasing the processing times for immigration aspirants, added Cissna.
