The US Citizenship and Immigration Services –USCIS has dismissed claims that those who applied for the H-1B visas were not extremely qualified. The average salary of H-1B visa workers for the last eleven years is 92, 317 Dollars and a great majority of them were either Master’s or Bachelor’s degree holders, elaborated the USCIS.
According to the latest report of the USCIS, from 2007 to 2017 June 34 lakh H-1B visa applications were received by it and Indians accounted for 21 lakh applications. In this period US Citizenship and Immigration Services approved 26 lakh H-1B visa applications but it did not give any details of the nation wise breakup of these figures.
Chinese were the second highest applicants with 296, 313 applications, which was nowhere, close to the number of Indian applications, as quoted by the Gadgets Now. Applicants from the Philippines secured the third place with 85, 918 followed by South Korea with 77, 359 and Canada with 68, 228 applications for H-1B visas.
USCIS further elaborated in its report that a whopping 23 lakh successful applicants of H-1B visas were in the age category of 25 to 34 years. 20 lakh of the successful applicants were from a job category related to Computers. They were followed by applicants from Surveying, Engineering and Architecture with 318, 670, Administrative specializations with 245, 000, and Health and Medicine with 185,000.
In these eleven years from 2007, 2000 overseas nationals above the age of 65 years have been approved the H-1B visas.
Diverging from the general view, the average salary of H-1B visa holders has enhanced crucially from 68, 159 Dollars in 2007 to 92, 317 Dollars in 2017 for an overseas provisional worker with H-1B visa.
