US Consulates all across the globe have cautioned US Visa applicants that the processing of US visas will be delayed owing to the high volume of visa applications and stringent visa screening procedures.
Overseas US Visa applicants will have to wait for a long time for availing the appointments for the visa at the US Consulates. There will also be a delay in issuing of US Non-immigrant visas such as US Visit visas – B1 and B2, L1 visas, H1-B visas and even the Student visas F1 will also be affected, as quoted by the Workpermit.
US Consulates all across the globe have attributed to the delays in visa processing to stringent visa screening procedures that have been introduced for a section of visa applicants by US President Donald Trump. On the other hand in the summer season, the vast majority of immigrants travel to their homelands and they also have to apply for the renewal of their US Visas prior to their return.
Apart from this prior to the commencement of the academic year as well as the October 1 fiscal year for H1-B visas, many overseas immigrants who are immigrating to the US for the first time will be furnishing their applications for the US Visas. All these factors will result in delayed processing of US visas, cautioned the US Consulates all across the globe.
The stringent visa screening procedures initiated by Trump require the US visa applicants to furnish a vast range of information.
The US Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly has said in the US Congress that if the US Visa applicants do not provide the required information, they will be barred from arriving in the US. His remarks echo the words of the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson who had asked Consular officers to be unwavering for refusing visa applications.
