In a big Visa scam, 29 fraudsters have travelled to the US using forged documents for sponsorship. Begumpet Police in Hyderabad has received a complaint from Chintala Mounika Reddy. She is the wife of a software engineer working in the US from 2007 Komati Reddy Sireesh Reddy.
Mrs. Reddy stated that the 29 fraudsters used fake sponsorship documents in the name of her husband to travel to the US. They have caused mental suffering to her family said Mounika and urged the Police to arrest the accused.
The Visa scam began to unravel on 23 January, as quoted by the Times of India. Mounika arrived at Hyderabad on 21 January and visited the US Consulate seeking her Visa extension. The US Consulate sent her an email which stated that 29 people arrived at the US. This is by using forged letters of sponsorship allegedly offered by her husband.
Mounika informed the US Consulate that no such letters were offered by her husband. The 29 people are not related to her family in any way, she added. The fraudsters have forged the letters of sponsorship in the name of her husband, added Mounika in her complaint to the Police.
Police have found that some of the family members of Mounika who got the letters of sponsorship initially had got them photocopied at local shops in Hyderabad. One of them could have kept a few copies and forged them later, added the Police regarding the Visa scam.
