US announces plan to issue 1 million visas by 2023
 

• The visa administration of the US has plans to issue over 1 million US visas to Indians by the end of this year.
• Student visas (F visa) and Work visas (L & H-1B visas) are set to be prioritized this year owing to the demand for Indian IT professionals.
• India is the second country with the most students migrating to the US for studies.
• H-1B visas allow US-based employers and companies to employ foreign professionals who belong to occupations that require a high level of expertise and technical assistance.

• The new campus of the US consulate has been opened in Nanakaramguda, Hyderabad.
• The Nanakaramguda US Consulate is known to be the biggest in South Asia, with large-scale facilities.

• The US plans to accept and issue most student visa applications for the fall intake of 2023.
• The wait time for some US visas has also been altered to less than 60 days.
