Soon the United States of America will drastically increase the number of unskilled workers that will be allowed into its territory and earn a living. This however, will not affect the status of Indian migrants who go to the United States under this category of visas. This move is directed towards the aim of supporting the lack of unskilled workers within the country.
Who is it for?
The H2B visa as it is called is for all those who qualify to work in jobs such as blue collar non-farm jobs in hotels, restaurants, construction, truck driving and so on. The decision to increase the number of guest workers in the United States is being viewed as drastic move as the number of people that are going to be permitted is nothing less the four times the number of people allowed at present.
Now for more people
The number of seasonal workers will now go up from 66,000 to 250,000. It has been found that most of the Indians do not usually prefer to opt for this visa. Despite this, their entry into the country will not be effected in the least. There is also another aspect to the implementation of this new immigration rule.
It is severely increasing the competition among the natives of the United States who are themselves struggling to find jobs in this category. A very important thing to be noted with regard to people applying to go to the United States of America on the H2B visa is the fact that employers looking forward to hiring people in this category.
The major reason behind this is the fact that the visa requires applicants to stay tied up with the company they are employed at. This takes away from them the right to complain against the company they work for.
