UK Prime Minister Theresa will define the Brexit pathway through two speeches in the comings weeks. This will offer enhanced clarity regarding the path ahead for the UK in the exit of the EU. It is being hoped that UK will secure a transition deal with the EU by March 2018. The UK expects to chalk out a smooth pathway and secure a deal for long-term trade agreement later this year.
The Brexit pathway for the UK will be attempted to be defined in a series of 6 speeches by Prime Minister Theresa May. This has been termed as the ‘Road to Brexit’ by the office of the Prime Minister, as quoted by the Indian Express.
The UK PMO said that Brexit is a redefining moment in the history of the nation. It is all set to tread on this defining pathway to the future. Thus more details will be made available to the public. It will create awareness regarding the benefits of the EU exit to each community in the UK, added the office.
The first speech in this series will be delivered by May at Munich in a conference scheduled this week. This will outline the security ties that the UK intends to have with the EU. May is also scheduled to deliver another speech outlining UK’s future partnership. The date for this speech is yet to be announced.
Boris Johnson the Foreign Minister of the UK will also participate in the ‘Road to Brexit’ speech series. This has been described by the UK PMO office as a rallying point for both the parties in the debate for Brexit. The manner in which the UK businesses can maintain their global reputation post-Brexit will be outlined by David Davis the Brexit Minister.
