Preet Kaur Gill created a record by becoming the first ever Sikh lady member of the UK parliament by winning the Birmingham Edgbaston constituency on the ticket of the Labor party. She has elaborated on the Brexit scenario by saying that only if the new UK government transforms its approach and evolves a consensus involving all UK parties it can ensure a smooth Brexit.
A lot will be dependent on the approach of the Tories. It will not be possible for them to behave as per their whims and fancies as they will be facing a tough challenge in the UK House of Commons for every policy decision, said Ms. Gill. Anti-public welfare policies will be severely opposed as the electorates have expresses strong views and the UK economy should be at the heart of any Brexit talks, added the UK Member of Parliament, as quoted by the Times of India.
The results of the snap elections have given clear definition to the voice of the electorates as they have not expressed confidence in the Tories. UK’s exit negotiations with the European Union must now be led by a team representing all the political parties as only this reflects and represents the will of the K electorates and ensures the best deal elaborated Preet Kaur Gill.
The snap elections have not given the authority that Theresa May expected from the public to go ahead with the tough Brexit talks. She had publicly declared that it was better to have no deal than a bad deal and was prepared to exit from the EU without any trade deal at all spelling catastrophe for the UK’s economy, explained Ms. Gill.
The Tories have failed enormously in the snap election as they lost even the majority they held in the 2015 Parliament, said the UK Member of Parliament.
