In another move to woo Chinese tourists into the UK, Chancellor George Osborne has announced that his country has plans to refund the cost of up to 25,000 visas for Chinese tourists.
The refund plan would only apply to those tourists visiting UK through organized tour groups. The Government also has plans to exempt transit visas to these groups, making it easier for Chinese tourists using British airports as transit when visiting European countries.
This move is aimed at increasing the number of flights between UK and China, strengthen British aviation and airports.
Tourist operators have welcomed the move describing it as a healthy catalyst that enables Chinese tourists to not only visit Britain but also travel right across without shelling out huge amounts.
This was one of the series of measures announced by UK at an economic summit that was attended by Chinese Vice Premier Ma Kai.
One can sum up UK’s enthusiasm in welcoming Chinese tourists through George Osborne’s words, ‘the more Chinese tourists the merrier’!
