Going to the UAE is now easier than ever. The UAE's Ministry of Interior on Tuesday has introduced three key procedural services for smartphone users. People can now use their smartphones to apply for issuance of short-term (30 days) visit visa, renewal of citizens' passports, and for obtaining Certificates of Good Conduct (Criminal Status Certificates).
The service is named "One Application Multiple Services" and it symbolizes the UAE Smart Government Initiative. In a first, the Major-General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, the Head of the e-Services and Smart Applications Team at the MOI informed that the initiative for short-term visa and other two service will save time allowing people to apply using their smartphones.
Applicants will no longer have to go to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs at the Naturalization Residency and Port Sector, but apply using their phones. Approved visas will be sent to the applicants through recognized entities chosen by the Ministry of Interior.
The current platform build by MOI supports Apple, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows compatible mobile phones.
