A new entry visa system whose intention is to attract skilled professionals to the UAE was approved by its Cabinet on 5 February.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, stated that the scheme would be undertaken in stages, which will begin with visas for health, education and tourism sectors.
In the second phase, the Emirates will introduce visas to attract talent in science, medicine, research sectors, etc.
Sheikh Mohammed was quoted by The National as saying that the future success of the UAE would be determined by people with creative mindsets. He added that investment in people was necessary to drive the country’s success and economy.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed has ordered the establishing of specialised committees to arrange the sectors in order of preference and put forward a plan to draw local as well as international talent.
The Western Asian country would be reportedly offering a vibrant lifestyle, wholesome infrastructure and viable financing policies, among others, to multinational companies and talented migrants within its territory.
Sheikh Mohammed stated that theirs was a country of many opportunities. The intent of the Emirates was to provide a liberal climate that could encourage and support prospective as well exceptional talent.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet of UAE gave a go-ahead for setting up of embassies in capitals all across the world.
It also backed international pacts in accordance with the efforts of the Emirates to promote its international standing and consolidate further its friendly ties with relations with different nations.
