UAE announces a new 2-year visa for doctors

The Dubai Healthcare City Authority has recently announced a new license for visiting doctors. It allows foreign dentists, physicians, and CAM practitioners to enter the country. They are then allowed to work for up to 3 clinical facilities in DHCC free zone in UAE.

 

The new Visa will allow physicians to be employed for 2 years after obtaining the Letter of Acceptance. The Letter of Acceptance is a document that confirms the applicant’s ability to work as a physician. It allows the physician to enter into a contract with a clinic or clinical facility.

 

His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, PM of UAE, launched the 50-year Charter earlier this month. The charter is aimed at improving the quality of life in Dubai. One of the charter’s objectives is to transform UAE’s medical system.

 

Dr Ramadan AlBlooshi, CEO of DHCR, said that it is important to attract talented medical practitioners to Dubai. Their expertise will help serve the citizens of UAE better. In fact, global medical expertise is a key pillar of transforming Dubai’s medical system.

 

At present, visiting doctors can only practice in the free zone temporarily. They can do so after obtaining a license which has a validity of 3 months. They can further extend the license to another 3 months.

 

Starting 20^th January, eligible doctors would be able to apply for the new license.

 

The new license has been launched ahead of Arab Health. It is the largest exhibition organized in the Middle East for medical and trade professionals, as per Khaleej Times.

 

In this year’s exhibition, DHCC will showcase its projects and developments in healthcare. It will also showcase its medical education and wellness expansion projects. Advancing the healthcare system will help strengthen the resilience of Dubai’s economy.
