UAE offers 10-Year Residential Visas to Engineers, Doctors; + families

UAE has offered 10-year Residential Visas to Engineers and Doctors along with their family members by enacting drastic changes to its visa system. Experts working in Technical fields, Research, Science, and Medicine will also b eligible.

The UAE will enact drastic changes to its Residential Visas that will offer 10-year permits to crucial workers aimed at attracting in-demand overseas professionals. 5-Year Residential Visas will also be offered to overseas students. On the other hand, Exceptional Graduates will be permitted to stay for 10 years, as quoted by the National AE.

The other crucial changes include permitting overseas investors to own 100% of a firm based in the UAE. As of now, overseas firms are required to have a local partner owning 51% of the business.

The sweeping changes to the UAE visa regime were announced in a meeting of the Cabinet chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. It was also attended by Ruler of Dubai, Prime Minister, and President.

Sheikh Mohammed said that “UAE will emerge as the international incubator for exceptional overseas talents”. It will also evolve as a permanent destination for overseas investors, he added.

Mohammed also outlined the plan to attract overseas investment and extraordinary talents to the UAE. Flexible rules, infrastructure, tolerant values and open environment are the best arrangements for this, he added.

Departments of the UAE Government have been asked to work towards implementation of the changes by the conclusion of 2018. The major changes are said to have been planned by the UAE for a while now.

UAE is now offering enhanced flexibility for retirees and Residential Visas for long-term. This is to boost the local economy in a huge way.
