The High Commission of South Africa in New Zealand said that it was happy to announce the opening of two South African visa application centres (VACs) there.
To be operated by VFS Global, Auckland and Wellington will house these centres which will go live on 14 February 2017. This development means that South African visa applicants in New Zealand hereafter need not travel to its High Commission, which is located in Wellington.
The High Commission added that the new VFS Global VACs will offer a hassle-free accessible visa application procedure for applicants as it will have an appointment-based system, secure dispatch system and easy fee collection. They will allow walk-ins too.
But the South African High Commission will be the deciding authority for issuing and processing visas.
Passport holders in New Zealand currently staying in Australia will no longer have to travel to New Zealand as they apply in Canberra for visas at the South African High Commission.
The fees charged for this service includes the visa processing fee of NZ$95 along with the service fee of NZ$86, which will totally cost NZ$181. They can pay via Credit Card/Debit Card/EFTPOS.
The major features of this centre are its convenient location, staff which is capable of responding to visa queries, dedicated website for easily accessing information on requirements, visa categories, applicable fees and checklist, assured safe handling of documents, personal information and passports and tracking service of SMS.
