Top 10 Indian Universities producing H-1B visa holders – UG

If you are asked which are the Indian Universities that produce the highest numbers of H-1B visa holders you might answer that it is obviously the IITs and the IIMs. But the fact is that it is not so. The top 10 highest numbers of H-1B visa holders at the Bachelor’s degree level from India do not have either the IITs or the IIMs.

 

Anna University in Chennai topped the list as 850 of its UG alumni have secured the H-1B visas. The second place is bagged by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad with 747. The BITs and IITs had just over 60 individually, as quoted by the Scroll In.

 

85,000 H-1B visas were offered by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services in 2017. Of these, just above 20,000 were obtained by Indians. This is as per the statistics revealed by Quartz with data obtained from the US Overseas Labor Certification Office.
