New Zealand An innovative Global Impact Visa for overseas entrepreneurs has been launched by New Zealand. These three-year visas for the investors and entrepreneurs have an intake of 400 immigrants and permit them to either expand an established firm or start a new company in New Zealand. After the three-year period, the immigrant investors are eligible to apply for the permanent residency in New Zealand, as quoted by Forbes. Though much hand-holding or funds are not available to the investors, they are given access to the network of accelerators, universities, investors, mentors, advisors, and grants for R & D. The investors have the freedom of residence anywhere in New Zealand. They will have to assemble at a place once in a period of 3-4 months in one year to discuss and share learning and experiences. The investor program is being offered in association with the Edmund Hillary Fellowship. It is collaboration between Kiwi Connect that encourages high-impact investments in New Zealand and Hillary Institute for International Leadership. Yoseph Ayele the CEO of EHF has said that the investor program will be appealing for immigrant entrepreneurs who have faced tough times in their nations owing to bureaucracy and red-tape culture. Investors who will be selected even on the basis of the potential impact of their enterprises will be permitted to have any level venture ranging from a creator of going concerns to recent dropouts from the university. The investor program will be commencing from October 2017. A new investor program will be launched for every six months from then onwards. The applicants have to first apply to the Edmund Hillary Fellowship and then for the visa program.
