The post-Brexit offer made by the UK Prime Minister Theresa May has been decried as inadequate that was nothing even close to being generous according to the EU migrants who said that this will leave them at the mercy of the UK Members of Parliament.
EU migrants in the UK also elaborated that May’s proposal meant that they would no longer enjoy the protection of the Court of Justice in Europe owing to a referendum held last year in which they were not allowed to participate.
Joan Pons the nurse from Spain said that there was nothing exceptional in the offer made by May. He is one among the 60,000 EU migrants that are employed in the National Health Service for England alone, as quoted by the New Indian Express. It is a ridiculous offer and not a generous one, added Joan Pons.
Even the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan condemned the offer made by a beleaguered Theresa May as being sadly insufficient. He said in a tweet that the offer of the UK PM does not even come anywhere close to complete safeguarding of the rights of the 3 million EU migrants staying in the nation.
The Head of the ‘3 million’ lobby group for EU migrants Nicolas Hatton from France said that the Government of the UK has taken 12 months to announce this pathetic offer for the EU immigrants. This is the worse offer that could have been imagined for the EU nationals and the UK government is apparently unbothered about their lives added Hatton.
Nicolas Hatton elaborated that EU migrants must be permitted to live in the UK similarly to the UK nationals and any arrangements made for them must have remedial options for protecting their rights in case Brexit talks fall apart, added Hatton.
