Theresa May UK Prime Minister Theresa May has announced that she will form the next UK government and lead the nation for the exit talks with the EU. Prior to making this statement at Downing Street, May met the Queen at the palace in Buckingham. She further added that UK needs stability more than before now to come out with a successful trade deal with the EU. The UK House of Commons has 650 seats and Tories failed to secure even a working majority by winning in 318 constituencies. The main rival Labor party however improved its tally to 261 seats, as quoted by the Indian Express. The sitting Prime Minister May said that she will be forming the government along with Northern Ireland’s Democratic Unionist Party that has 10 MPs in the current UK Parliament. May further elaborated that her party has had very strong relations with the Democratic Unionist Party for several years and this makes her confident of working in collaboration with the party for ensuring the welfare of the UK. The snap poll that was announced by Theresa May was intended to increase her majority in the UK Parliament when compared to 2015 giving her increased freedom to go ahead with the tough Brexit strategy. However, the results proved to be contrary to her expectations that even reduced the majority of the party, not alone give her a landslide victory. SNP and Liberals Democrats who have won 35 and 12 seats respectively in the UK Parliament have refused to support the Tories in forming the government. Jeremy Corbyn the leader of the main opposition Labor party demanded that Theresa May resigns as the UK Prime Minister as she lost the confidence, support, and votes of the UK electorates.
