Deloitte Consulting is the #1 among the top 10 IT firms that got H-1B Visas/Certifications in Q1 FY 2019 that ended on 31 December 2018. It received 18, 306 certifications for the H-1Bs. Apple was in the second position with 16, 426 H-1B Visas followed by KForce the Professional staffing agency with 10, 292.
The fourth rank in the list was secured by Amazon Services with 5, 485 H-1b Visas, as quoted by the Economic Times. The 5th position was secured by HCL with 5, 085 overseas labour certifications for US Work Visas under the H-1B program.
The move by the US administration to limit H-1Bs has perturbed large Tech firms. This is because it will seriously hamper their ability to hire and retain talented workers.
HCL America received a 2.9% share of all overseas labour certification for the US Work Visas under the H-1B program. This was for Q1 FY 2019. The latest statistics have been announced by the Department of Labour in the US.
Facebook the Social Media giant was at the 7th position and received 4,133 overseas labour certifications under the H-1B program. The other firms in top 10 rankings include Oracle America, Intel Corporation, Qualcomm Technologies, and Cognizant Technology Solutions.
The largest beneficiaries of the provisional H-1B Visas are Indians. They received 76% of these Visas in 2018 as per the statistics of the US Government.
The Trump administration has recently declared changes to the H-1B Visa program. It is proposed to offer preference to applicants with advanced US Degrees. 85,000 US Work Visas under the H-1B program are offered annually as per the rules defined by the Congress.
