Belgium is one of the European nations that offer low cost and affordable education at the University level. International students keen to study overseas for free or with minimal budget must opt for studying in Belgium. In the institutions in the Flemish community, it is 9.30 to 0.70 Euros per year. The German-speaking community institutions have annual tuition fees of 435 Euros, as quoted by the Study Domain.

International students

The average annual tuition fees for international students is 890 to 4175 Euros in French community institutions. The institutions in the Flemish community charge average annual tuition fees of 25 to 0.70 Euros. In the German-speaking community institutions, it is around 435 Euros per year.

Cost of living

The living costs in Belgium are not high when compared with creation EU nations. The accommodation, food, transportation, books and miscellaneous expenses could come around to 900 to 800 Euros monthly. Below is the break-up:

  • Courses and books - 35 Euros
  • Accommodation - 500 Euros
  • Food - 300 Euros
  • Healthcare with insurance, medical costs- 20 Euros
  • Public transport - 40 Euros
  • Miscellaneous such as telephone, leisure etc - 55 Euros

Scholarships

There are diverse scholarships options for overseas students in Belgium. These include offered by the Government, some universities, Belgian organizations and Academy of Research and Higher Education.
