Visiting South Africa will now be a lot easier than before because of the simplification of the visa application process. The country is attempting to enhance its technology, with a view to improve its visa issuing process. The South African government is leaving no stone unturned to increase the country’s Indian tourist inflow. Modification of the visa application process is a part of the same attempt.
The Minister of Home Affairs claims that South Africa has the best infrastructure facilities for Indian tourists and businessmen. This he claims, is something you won’t find in the entire African continent. Speaking about the same, the minister Mr M. Gigaba said "India is a fast growing economy and South Africa is ready to partner with it. We are ready to serve more Indian businesses and welcome more Indian tourists to South Africa."
The country is inviting Indian businessmen by providing a multiple entry visa for 3 to 10 years. Mr. Gigaba has visited India recently and met his Indian counterpart Mr. Rajnath Singh. He wishes to change things that were under criticism earlier.
The new rules call for people to be present in person during evaluation. A child travelling to or from South Africa, must carry the birth certificate along with the passport and visa. The drop of tourists from 128,179 in 2013 to 117,511 in 2014 needs to be changed.
In this regard, the minister said "We will provide more facilities, more staff, and use new technologies to process the applications faster as and when the demand requires. I will be visiting the facilitation centres here in India and see them function."
