Skills and numbers of H-1B Visa holders must be increased according to the Silicon Valley stakeholders. This has been revealed by the latest survey by Forbes. The survey observes that specifically, US businesses in the tech and science fields are asking for increased overseas talents.
More than 59% of the respondents of the survey said that they will be hiring more number of H-1B visa holders in 2018. This is an increase from 2017 with 50% and 2016 with 34%, as quoted by the Study International.
The participants of the Forbes survey from Silicon Valley said that they would like to hire over workers with higher skills. The numbers of H-1B visa holders must also be enhanced by the US administration, they added.
Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG) a non-profit advocacy group and Mercury News have also published their recent survey for H-1B visas. The pattern of endorsement or opposition of the residents of the US for the H-1B visa has been revealed by the SVLG survey.
The residents of geographical areas of the US that voted for Trump in the last Presidential elections have expressed their suspicion over the benefits of the H-1B program. Meanwhile, the US residents from those regions that voted against Trump have expressed their support for the H-1B program.
The overseas students can take a clue from this survey. It implies that they have high chances of obtaining an H-1B visa in the US in specific conditions. One among them would be if they apply for a job in the Silicon Valley that is related to technology or science. The other would likely to be under a different President for the US.
