A stopover transit visa was introduced earlier this month with 90-day validity.

The latest revisions by Saudi Arabia for pilgrims

Saudi Arabia has cleared the path for foreign pilgrims who visit to perform Umrah.
There will be no limitations on the count of people that can perform Umrah with new facilities and amenities.
People who enter the country with visitor, tourist, and labor visas can perform Umrah.
Pilgrims can now switch their mode of transportation at the time of their entry and exit in Saudi Arabia.
Dates are given in the license to be strictly followed by tourists who wish to perform rituals at the Mecca Masjid.

Pilgrims can now partake in multiple activities, including performing Umrah and visiting the holy mosque, amongst other pursuits, with the introduction of the transit visa. The transit visa was introduced earlier this month with a validity of 90 days.
