A record number of 1, 400+ overseas immigrants received Canada PR nomination from Nova Scotia in 2017. The Atlantic province nominated the overseas immigrants through its Provincial Nominee Program. The Nova Scotia Nominee Program accepts applications through 5 immigration streams:
Express Entry Nova Scotia Demand of the Nova Scotia Nominee Program was one the most dynamic categories. It opened for applications thrice in 2017 reaching its limit for intake very quickly in each instance.
Nova Scotia Demand in Express Entry is an immigration category operating on first served for first come basis. It does not require a job offer. But the applicants must be having minimum 1 year paid work experience in one of the opportunity occupations of Nova Scotia. They must also have registered their profile in the national Express entry system of Canada, as quoted by the CIC News.
Apart from the record number of 1, 400+ overseas immigrants who received Canada PR nomination from Nova Scotia it also welcomed 200 additional immigrants in 2017. These arrived through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program and were accompanied by their families.
AIPP is a unique regional partnership for immigration launched in 2017. This is between the 4 Atlantic province governments and the federal government. The provinces are Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
Lena Metlege Diab the Immigration Minister of Nova Scotia released a statement in media regarding the record nominations in 2017. It stated that immigration is a crucial factor for the growth of the province and its economy. This approach will be continued in 2018, added the statement.
