Quebec announces economic immigration Canada PR route

The Quebec Government has announced that it will launch a new economic immigration Canada PR route that will be modeled on the national Express entry system. The Quebec Skilled Worker Program candidate profiles will be managed by the new system of Expression of Interest.

Immigration Ministry of Quebec had always been public regarding its plans to have its own version of the national Express entry system’s economic immigration Canada PR route. This was way back in 2015 January when the Federal Express Entry system was launched by the Canadian government.

The first served for the first arrived system of the QWSP will now be replaced by the Expression of Interest system. It will also replace the application portal of Quebec Mon Project, as quoted by the CIC News.

The candidates who are qualified for the Quebec Skilled Worker Program will need now to first submit the Expression of Interest. This is same on the lines of national Express Entry system of Canada. The profile of the candidates will have the validity of 1 year.

The candidates in the QWSP economic immigration pool will receive a unique score that will be calculated on a system of ranking similar to CRS or Comprehensive Ranking System of the Express entry system. In this system, the candidates in the pool are offered points based on diverse factors such as age, language skills, education, and employment.

Candidates for the economic immigration Canada PR route will be chosen from the EOI pool via rounds of invitations. In them, a select number of candidates with a certain threshold CRS score will be offered ITAs to apply for CSQ or Quebec Selection Certificate.
