The Qatar Tourism Authority, Qatar Airways, and VFS Global, a specialist visa provider, have entered into an agreement to come up with an effective and open tourist visa application system in order to attract more visitors to Qatar.
Inked in the presence of Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, the agreement is in accordance with the efforts of the government to encourage more visitors to the Southwest Asian country in alignment with the QNTSS (Qatar National Tourism Sector Strategy) 2030 of the country.
The Travel Retail Business quotes His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group CEO, as saying that Qatar Airways was transporting tourists into the country for nearly twenty years and this initiative was another landmark towards their commitment in making Doha, Qatar’s capital city, a tourist destination of world class.
The tourism industry was growing at a tremendous pace in Qatar and the announced developments in visa process will bolster the country’s vision to invite and welcome tourists from across the world to enjoy the facilities the country in the Arabian Peninsula offers, added Al Baker. He said that they were looking forward to welcoming more arrivals at Hamad International Airport. He thanked the Qatar Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriates Affairs for their efforts to make this announcement a reality.
Qatar Airways and the QTA (Qatar Tourism Authority) will partner with VFS Global and the Ministry of Interior on the process in the coming months to launch the new tourist visa application process. Details are expected to be announced at a later date.
