Below is the brief of how the provinces offered Canada Visa ITAs to immigrants even as the Canadian provinces welcomed diverse applications from entrepreneurs, professionals, and students.
Saskatchewan
This province enhanced its yearly intake of applications for Canada Visa ITAs to 2, 600 from 1,700 for its Express entry sub-category. There was also a minimal increase in the In-demand occupations subcategory by 300. Increases by Saskatchewan for SINP sub-categories indicate it may further increase intake in both of its categories before the end of 2017.
Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia Express Entry Demand is another popular Canada Provincial Nominee Program. It is a part of the Nominee program Nova Scotia. Similar to the sub-category of Saskatchewan, it also has a list if qualified occupations. The program functions on basis of priority for applications that are first filed. Potential applicants are required to have a live profile in Express entry and a job offer is not mandatory. This stream opened up for 300 fresh applications on October 11 and intake was exhausted the same day.
British Columbia
This province was busy throughout August and September offering 2,000 plus Canada Visa ITAs for Provincial Nominee Program British Columbia. Successful candidates through this Canada Provincial Nominee Program include entrepreneurs, students, and workers. It also continued with the tech exclusive draws. This initiative was launched in early 2017 in line with Tech Pilot PNP BC.
Manitoba
Manitoba continued to offer Canada Visa ITAs to skilled workers and business immigrants via the Provincial Nominee Program Manitoba. 443 skilled professional applicants were offered ITA on August 15. On the September 29 draw, another 349 received the ITAS. Most of the invites in these draws were through the category Manitoba Skilled Worker, as quoted by the CIC News.
New Brunswick
In September the enhanced stream of New Brunswick the Labor Market Express Entry Stream began accepting applications for a provisional period. This was for qualified applicants who possessed work experience in an eligible job. The candidates were also required to have attended an information session held by the immigration authorities of the province.
Ontario
In July Immigrant Nominee Program of Ontario searched for applicants with specific ICT work experience in the Express entry pool. These candidates were given priority for offering Canada Visa ITAs even if their CRS scores were below 400. This stream usually invites applicants with above 400 points. In September Ontario started to accept online applications through its Corporate Stream. Online applications were also accepted via the Overseas Masters and Doctoral streams from October.
Alberta
By October 2017 Albert has offered Canada Visa ITAs via its provincial nomination to 4, 300 applicants in the Immigrant Nominee Program Alberta. Out of these, 1, 150 were offered in the last 3 months. This shows continued efforts by Alberta to welcome fresh immigrants. It also included PR for current provisional residents. Candidates with the provincial nomination can apply for the Canada PR with the Canadian government.
