Denmark The Danish Parliament has recently passed a law making changes to the Pay Limit Scheme for overseas workers. The scheme is applicable to all those who are offered a highly paid job and for those who can access the labor market of Denmark. Conditions of the Pay Limit Scheme
  • The working professional must take home a gross salary no less than DKK408, 800 annually.
  • The salary must be paid to a Danish bank exclusively.
  • The salary will not be transferred into an account abroad.
  • The job must be a contract job and in case the contract expires before the 1st of July they must apply for the renewal and the new scheme will be applicable.
  • The crucial change to the pay limit scheme is that paid living and housing expenses, transport expenses and internet bills will be exempted from the pay.
  • For salaries above DKK408, 000 there are other components that will be applicable. For Employers and Foreign Nationals post the 1st of July 2017, the new scheme will hold good. If there are people whose temporary residences permits expire they can apply for scheme and renewal simultaneously.
Fast Track Scheme It is a quick way to get highly skilled overseas workers into a flexible job to Denmark. The scheme authorizes every certified company to hire highly qualified overseas workers without waiting for the approval from the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration which is a basic operating procedure to hire a foreign national. Four feasible ways through which overseas workers can make use of the Fast Track Scheme
  • The job offered will be offered under the condition of the Pay Limit Scheme.
  • Students on research and Ph.D. need not go through the fast track scheme.
  • The purpose of the employment may be to train employees of a certified company at the highly qualified level or even to receive highly qualified training from a certified company.
  • Short (3 months) and long-term (4 years) stays are accepted under this scheme based on the requirement of the employer.
The employer initiates the process on behalf of the employee by submitting an application for the fast track process. Upon receiving an approval, the highly skilled professional proceeds for the biometric procedure. After the Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) receives the biometric data, a work and residence permit will be issued after all the conditions are satisfied. Under the fast track scheme, the applicant will be issued a four-year stay permit.
