In order to qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities [HCP] Stream, the immigration candidate must meet the requirements of either the Federal Skilled Worker Program [FSWP] or the Canadian Experience Class [CEC].

At the time of the submission of the application to the OINP, the candidate will be required to select which of the federal programs – FSWP or CEC – they wish to be assessed against. Their Express Entry profile number as well as their job seeker validation code will have to be provided as well.

For 2020, the OINP’s allocation stands at 7,350. An additional 250 nominations have been set aside for temporary foreign workers in occupations requiring intermediate skills. These come under Skill Level C of the National Occupational Classification.

Occupations classified as Skill Level C are intermediate jobs usually requiring a high school education and/or job-specific training. For example, long-haul truck drivers.
