New Express Entry category for skilled persons launched by Ontario

The most populous province in Canada and the most attractive destination for immigrants across the world Ontario has launched the Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream, a new category of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. Applicants who are successful in this stream will be given extra 600 Comprehensive Ranking System points which will ensure that they receive an Invitation to Apply for the subsequent National Express entry draw in Canada, as quoted by CIC News.

Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream the new category of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program has become effective from 31 May 2017.

The applicants in the Express entry pool who qualify through Canadian Experience Class will only be eligible for receiving a nomination under this new category for the immigrants launched by Ontario. They must have declared in their express entry profiles the intent to settle in Ontario or all territories or provinces. The prospective applicants must also have received a Notice of Attention from Ontario through the Express Entry online profile of the IRCC prior to submitting their applications.

The eligibility criterions of this program include having a minimum full-time work experience of one year in Ontario gained within a period of 24 months from the date when Ontario issued the Notice of Attention. The applicants must also have certification for trade if applicable and the minimum score of Canadian Language Benchmark 5 in French or English. The score must be secured from an authorized test for language approved by the Government of Canada and Ontario as well.

The applicants for this new immigration program of Ontario must also possess the level of funds required for settlement in Ontario and the intent to settle in Ontario.
