2, 801 Express Entry Candidates have been invited by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to apply for the Canada PR on the draw conducted on October 4. ITA was offered to express Entry Candidates in the pool who had secured 438 or more CRS points.
Express Entry immigrant applicants who have obtained the ITA have 90 days time to submit the entire application for Canada Permanent Residency. This is inclusive of the complementary documents required for the application. It is aimed by IRCC to complete the application processing within 180 days. This time frame has been met by IRCC for most of the cases, as quoted by the CIC News.
The draw held on October 4 is the 23rd draw held in 2017. This year the total number of ITAs issued for Canada PR is 72, 221. It is more than the sum total of ITAs issued in 2015 and 2016 together. It is also more than twice than the ITAs issued in the first 23 draws of 2016 that was 25, 982.
The CRS cut off for the October 4 draw went little high when compared with the previous draw that was held on 20 September 2017. However, it still easily lesser than the lowest CRS threshold for the entire year 2016. In the previous year, the CRS scores did not decrease below 450 points.
For 2017, the lowest threshold was for the Express entry draw that was held on 31 May. In this draw candidates with 413 or more points in the CRS system were offered the ITA for Canada Permanent Residency.
IRCC will announce within few weeks the immigration level intake plans for 2018.
