Queensland has taken a focused approach to address its workforce needs for 2025-26 by updating the Queensland Offshore Skilled Occupation List (QSOL). The state is giving priority to critical sectors such as engineering, trades, healthcare, and education, ensuring that demand in these industries is met with skilled global talent.

Key roles include civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers; construction and skilled trades professionals; early childhood and secondary school teachers; as well as healthcare workers like nurses and physiotherapists.

To streamline the process, Queensland will open Registrations of Interest (ROIs) on September 19, 2025, exclusively for applicants whose occupations feature on the QSOL.
