Nova Scotia has offered the first LOIs for Canada PR via the new Labour Market Priorities Stream Express Entry on 7 August 2018. Qualified candidates in the pool with experience as Early Childhood Assistants and Educators were targeted by the draw.
314 LOIs were issued totally to qualified candidates in the national Express Entry pool. These had minimum 2 years of work experience in 4214 National Occupational Classification.
Office of Immigration Nova Scotia Spokesperson Lynette Macleod said that the CRS score of the candidates was not a selection factor. Express Entry candidates who have received the Letter of Interest now have 30 days. They must submit a complete application to the province with this period added Macleod.
The creation of Labour Market Priorities Stream was announced by Nova Scotia on 2 August. It had said that this will be used for inviting Express Entry candidates for Provincial Nomination. This is for those who cater to the labor shortages identified by the market, as quoted by the CIC News.
Candidates who are successful in the Provincial Nomination by Nova Scotia will obtain 600 extra CRS points. This means they are well placed to receive the ITA for Canada PR.
Lynette Macleod said that attracting and retaining skilled immigrants will enhance access to crucial services such as such as Early Childhood Education. It will also help in increasing the population, she added. This will empower our communities and provincial economy said the Spokesperson. All residents of Nova Scotia will also be benefited, she elaborated.
Labour Market Priorities Stream has been described as being flexible by the Office of Immigration Nova Scotia. The specified occupations can vary from draw to draw based on the needs of Nova Scotia, it added.
