USA government to give preference to student visas The U.S.A. government has now started issuing student visas as they are expecting to receive huge applications after lifting the travel ban. Hence, it decided to give top priority to issue student visas. As per the records, the U.S. has already issued 62,000 visas to Indian students in 2021. The country has a heavy surge after lifting the travel ban to vaccinated travelers. From November 8, 2021,  the U.S. announced the lifting of a travel ban on countries like China, India, and Europe.
According to Melinda Pavek... US Consul General to Kolkata, Melinda Pavek, said on the sidelines of an interactive session with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) that priority will be given to student visas.
The U.S. travel restrictions were imposed in 2020 to keep a checkpoint for spreading the dreadful coronavirus. The visa appointments will start from November 1, 2021, and the importance will be given to student visas. These proclamations will end on November 8, 2021, and the applications will be issued for multiple visas. This accounts to fulfill for various grounds like:
  • Work
  • Entrepreneurship or Business
  • Education
As per the announcement from consul officials, the student and emergency visas will not be closed for a brief period. The government is accepting that there will be a huge surge in visa applications from November 8, 2021. The ease in travel restrictions will definitely boost the Indo-US trade services, according to Preeyam Bhudhia (Patton International senior official). He also stated that, Indo-US trade will surely see the rise with lifting the travel ban. Already, trade between India and the U.S. has recovered 50 percent till August 2021, and very soon, it will reach the pre-COVID times, i.e., 2019.
