New York Nassau County Minority Affairs gets Indian-American as Deputy Comptroller

New York Dilip Chauhan an Indian-American has been appointed as the New York Nassau County Minority Affairs’ Deputy Comptroller, a senior position. The position focuses on enhancing the outreach of the Nassau County to the minority communities. The appointment of Chauhan as the Minority Affairs Deputy Comptroller was announced by George Maragos the Nassau County Comptroller in a statement released to the media. Indian-American Dilip Chauhan had joined as the Community Affairs Director for South and East Asia at the Office of the Comptroller in 2015. He has been serving as the Comptroller’s Senior Advisor from the beginning of 2017. The statement from the Office of the Comptroller said that ethnic minority groups are a fundamental part of the framework of the Nassau County. Also, the Office of the Comptroller has been the propelling force in promoting enhanced prospects for enterprises owned by the minorities, women, and veterans to adhere to the goals of the county. It also highlighted the fact that much has to be done for the rights of the ethnic minority groups in the Nassau County. In the press release, efforts put forth by Indian-American Dilip Chauhan in facilitating better navigation of local government by minority community members was appreciated by Maragos the Nassau County Comptroller. It also lauded his efforts to resolve administrative issues faced by minority communities, as quoted by the Times of India. Indian-American Dilip Chauhan said that it was an honor for him to be appointed to the office of the Deputy Comptroller. He has been an active member of New York area’s Indian community. Chauhan said that he would support the efforts of the Comptroller to offer an equal business opportunity for women and minority owned enterprises in the Nassau County.
