New overseas hiring law has become effective in Taiwan with the Employment and Recruitment of Overseas Professionals Governing Act from February 2018. The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Taiwan is now offering Visas for Seeking Employment. It offers multiple entries and residence of 6 months to applicants who qualify for this visa.
As per the new overseas hiring law in Taiwan, applicants must demonstrate that they possess work experience. This must be for the average last 6 months with minimum 47, 971 TWD. They can alternatively have been graduated from one of the Top 500 global universities.
Applicants for Visas for Seeking Employment must also show that they possess adequate funds which are around 3, 400 USD. A plan for job seeking, good conduct certificate, and health insurance are also required, as quoted by the Guardian.
National Migration Agency has also launched an online bilingual platform from February 2018. This is to enable the application process for Employment Gold Card. Expert overseas professionals can now apply for 4-in-1 Job Gold Card. It has a validity of 1 and 3 years being non-extendable. This incorporates a work permit that allows job swapping without legal hurdles. It also includes a Re-entry permit and Certificate for Alien Resident.
The applicants who are eligible can apply individually devoid of employer approval. An overseas expert professional must possess unique proficiency required by Taiwan. This can be in any one of the seven fields. These are Architectural design, Finance and Legal, Sports, Culture, Education, Economics, and Technology as identified by the appropriate authorities of the government.
Eligible family members of the Gold Card holder can avail a Visitor Visa with multiple-entries. It has a validity of 1 year with the residence of 6 months that can be extended by extra 6 months.
