New Canada Express entry draw has offered 3,000 invites for Canada Permanent Residency in the draw held on 21 February. The threshold Comprehensive Ranking Score for this Express entry draw was 442 points.
The sum of 3,000 ITAs or Invitations to Apply that have been offered in this draw is equal to the number of ITAs offered in the previous draw held on 7 February. It is the second successive Express entry draws that has offered 3,000 ITAs for Canada PR. Both these draws have offered 250+ ITAs over the earlier 5 draws, as quoted by the CIC News.
The threshold CRS score of 442 is equal to the previous draw score held on 7 February.
The rule of tiebreaker was utilized by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada in this round also. It has revealed the date and time of the tie-breaker. For the 21 February draw, it was 17.03.32 UTC and 11 February 2018. This means all candidates who scored 442 CRS and entered the express entry pool prior to this time received ITA. It also includes all candidates who scored 442+ CRS score.
The new Canada Express entry draw is preceded by a bustling year beginning for Provincial Nominee Programs that are aligned with Express entry. The latest example of such PNP is Ontario. It held the largest ever draw for 2018 through its HCP stream or Human Capital Priorities.
Candidates in the Express entry pool who receive an invite for a nomination from a province receive 600 extra CRS points if they are successful in their application. This means they will surely receive an ITA for Canada PR in the subsequent draw held in Express entry.
Higher targets for intake of immigrants have been set by Canada for 2018. This is both through PNPs and Express entry. It was highlighted by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Minister of Canada Ahmed Hussen in the latest update for levels for 2018.
