Beginning from March 1, 2017, Vietnam and Australia will offer mutual work and holiday visas. This collaboration will permit Vietnamese youth aged between 30 and 18 to immigrate to Australia for 12 months and be engaged in the study and work on a short-term basis. It will also permit Australian youth to holiday and work in Vietnam.
200 qualified applicants in Vietnam will be approved Australia visas and similarly 200 eligible applicants in Australia will be authorized to arrive in Vietnam annually, quotes Vietnamnet.
According to Craig Chittick, Australia’s Ambassador to Vietnam the mutual arrangement is aimed at increasing understanding between nationals of both the countries and contribute to the partnerships in innovation, security, and economy.
This Work and holiday authorization will permit participants from Vietnam to be engaged in tourism and cultural exchange; reside in Australia for one year from the date of the first arrival; be employed for one year but not more than six months with a single firm, and pursue studies for up to 16 weeks.
The Work and holiday visa will recommence accepting applications annually on July 1.
The Australia’s Ambassador to Vietnam also said that he was very pleased with the results of the bilateral collaboration between both the nations. This will now facilitate youth in Australia and Vietnam to participate in the matchless experience of cultural exchange. It will also facilitate to progress the understanding between nationals of both the countries, added Craig Chittick.
