Canada PR applicants in the Express entry pool who have score ties with fellow applicants in the Comprehensive Ranking System will now be ranked in order of the exact date and time of submission of their profiles. This was announced by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, as quoted by the CIC News.
CRS points, however, continue to remain the chief factor that would determine the applicants rank in the Express entry pool. In cases where in the applicants are tied for scores with fellow applicants in the pool, they will be ranked as per the time and date of submission of applications for Canada PR. Profiles that have been submitted earlier will be ranked higher while compared with the applications that have been submitted recently.
Beginning from now onwards the CRS threshold for future draws in the Express entry pool will be determined by the CRS scores and time of submission of the applicant invited with the lowest rank. For example, if 3,400 ITAs have to be offered by the IRCC, the submission time and CRS score of the 3,400th candidate in the Express entry pool at the time of the draw will determine the CRS point’s threshold and requirement for the latest submission for that draw.
It has been stated by the IRCC that for any particular draw the time stamp of the rank will be applicable for only those applicants who have secured the threshold CRS score for that Express entry draw. Applicants with a high CRS score than compared with the other applicants will continue to get higher ranking while compared with applicants with low scores irrespective of time of submission of their profiles.
