United Kingdom is known for changing immigration rules every now and then. First, it was Indian students affected by post-study work visa changes, now it's the skilled Indian migrants who will face the heat. Applications of high-skilled employees of Indian companies with UK based subsidiary will be under scrutiny by the UK Home Office.
All applications received under Tier 2 scheme will be examined for particulars mentioned in it - from job details to salary and purpose of visit - to ensure immigration system is not abused and to reduce risk of local jobs going to migrants.
UK made it compulsory for the companies to advertise for job openings using all possible mediums before hiring a skilled migrant worker. A company can only hire a migrant employee when a suitable resource is unavailable in the country and not otherwise.
For a Tier 2 application to be approved, the applicant must have an income of £20,500 or an approximate Rs. 20 Lakhs per annum.
The new laws are likely to come into force in few months and will affect many Indian companies with UK subsidiaries.
