The low threshold point’s trend for British Columbia immigration continues in its draws. A number of overseas workers, entrepreneurs, and overseas graduates were offered the Invitation to apply for nomination through the Provincial Nominee Program of British Columbia. This was following the latest draws that were conducted on October 4 and September 27.
The total number of Invitations to apply offered to the applicants through BC PNP in this period was 377. This includes the candidates who received an invitation through the latest Tech Pilot program.
Several categories of PNP BC are managed through the Skills Immigration Registration System SIRS - of British Columbia. Eligible candidates are first required to register an account in order to apply through the SIRS. After this, they are offered scores depending on their human capital and economic credentials. ITA is then offered to candidates with highest scores in the periodic draws held by the BC Government, as quoted by the Canadavisa.
Job offer from a BC employer is mandatory for all categories managed via the SIRS for British Columbia immigration. Candidates who have received ITA through a sub-category aligned with Express entry for their British Columbia immigration can now receive an enhanced PNP BC nomination certificate.
Successfully nominated candidates receive 600 extra points under CRS system and ITA at a subsequent draw from the national Express entry pool. It must be noted that ITA via the PNP BC is not the same as the ITA offered at the national level Express entry. The rest of the overseas workers, entrepreneurs and overseas graduates who received the ITA will have their Canada PR processed separately from Express entry once they receive a British Columbia nomination.
