A decrease in the number of H-1B visas applications:
By the end of June 2017, USCIS received more than 3, 36, 000 H-1B visas applications out of which 1, 97, 129 visas were approved. This reveals a decline from the 399,349 H-1B visas applications received in 2016.
The percentage of visa approvals decreases:
Around 58% visa applications have been approved so far in 2017 which is significantly lesser than the 87% visa applications that were approved in 2016.
An increase in average salary of H-1B visa holders:
The latest H-1B visas trends reveal that there has been a significant increase in the average annual salary of H-1B visa holders in 2017 which was 92, 317 Dollars annually. This was a hike from 68, 159 Dollars in 2007, as quoted by the Gadgets Now.
Age group of 25- 34 years were the maximum beneficiaries:
USCIS data has revealed that the majority of the beneficiaries of the H-1B visas are in the 25- 34 years age group.
IT field professionals are the maximum beneficiaries:
USCIS data for latest H-1B visas trends reveals that maximum beneficiaries of the H-1B visas were professionals from the Computer related jobs. They were followed by professionals in the Engineering, Architecture, Education, Surveying, Administrative specializations and Health and Medicine.
A decrease in the number of Indian applications, though they remain the highest:
H-1B visas trends indicate that the highest number of H-1B visas applications for 2017 were from India at 2, 47, 000 applications. However, this was a decline from the 3, 00,000 applications filed in 2016.
