Ivory Coast has offered flexible residence permit to overseas nationals subsequent to the launching of biometrics in the beginning of 2017. Applicants are now permitted to apply for a receipt within the country authenticating their application for the residence permit. They are also allowed to leave Ivory Coast while their application is being processed. Application for a new entry visa for returning to the nation is also not required.
The changed rules for the residence permit of Ivory Coast will be applicable immediately. This will benefit all overseas nationals who intend to apply for the permit, as quoted by the Lexology. After submitting the request, applicants now obtain the receipt within 24-48 hours.
The flexible procedures for permits will be of much benefit for those overseas nationals who need to travel during the process of application. Earlier this year, the biometric application process for the residence permit was launched by Ivory Coast. This process requires around 30 days. Overseas nationals needed a new entry visa for exit and entry to the nation while their application was being processed.
The new process for residence permit removes these issues. The receipt can now be used in place of arrival visa and must be produced at re-arrival. Applicants can utilize a power of attorney to secure the receipt of the residence permit. This authorizes third-party representation on their behalf for liaison with authorities.
Applicants for residence permits and firms as well must be aware of the changed rules. They can now travel outside Ivory Coast without obtaining a new visa while their application is being processed. Those who are arriving at the visa airport area at the airport with the pre-enrollment certificates are required to complete the enrollment for biometric.
